The Eight Plus One Foundation was established by 8 Men and 1 Women, who were firstly baptized as members of the Evangelical Church of West Irian, then called the Evangelical Church of Irian Jaya, and now the Evangelical Church of Indonesia (Gereja Injili di Indonesia – GIDI).
Signatories to the founding of the Institute is the Late Reverend Ki’marek Karoba Tawy, the Late Revered Selion Karoba Tawy and the Late Reverend Yiawon Pena Yikwa.
